Welcome to The Roof Top

In the early days of the church, people would gather on the roof tops to talk and share their lives with one another. I hope this blog can serve the same purpose.

This blog is designed to serve as an Online Growth Group for The Bridge Church in Cleveland, Ga, but everyone is invited to join in on the discussions about how God is working in our lives. Please feel free to watch the podcasts and join us in our walk.

Luke 12:3

What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.

March 6th Play Your Position

I've been giving a lot of thought to the question asked this Sunday. "What would you do if you KNEW God was walking with you?" I'm not sure I would do much different than I am currently. I would probably laugh and say "Really?" out loud more often than I do now.  I feel like I am finally in a good place with God. Not because I think I'm "getting it right" necessarily, but because I'm trying to listen more intently. More than anything, I think that is what he wants of us. To listen and be available. To pay attention to the opportunities he is affording us and bring ourselves more in tune with his desires. Our ability and desire to truly take care of one another is the thing that makes us Christians. His love, shown through us to the world.

What would you do differently? Would you have more courage? Would you have more compassion? Would you want to go on a smiting frenzy?

  2. I love the option to go on a smiting frenzy (not sure it would be an option but, the was a time in my life when...)

If I were certain God was with me and part of every decision I was making, I would risk more. I would not allow the concerns of limited finances, experience and "know how" keep me from giving more generously and taking on opportunities to start new ministry ventures that I hope would impact lives and reveal the love of God to others. I would travel more in hopes of engaging other cultures and helping encourage Christ followers in other places where they are well within the minority and face persecution and danger because of their faith.
